Planning and design

In our planning and design, the starting point is to find a fire-extinguishing solution that meets the needs the property concerned. Our strengths include solid engineering competence in complex installations across many different business segments. By means of competent and practical approach to design and seamless cooperation with the customer, we ensure that the fire-extinguishing system installed on the site is always correctly dimensioned and in compliance with the applicable regulations.

In the preparation of the plans and designs, we always comply with the acts, decrees and regulations currently in force.

We have a range of AutoCad LT programmes and AutoCad 3D software at our disposal.

In piping design, we also use the MagiCAD heating & piping programme and Tyco’s SprinkCAD PRO II programme in addition to regular CAD software.

In piping dimensioning, depending on the design software used, we use the Sigma Design calculation programme, the MagiCAD Sprinkler Calculation programme or Tyco’s SprinkCALC programme.

Our engineering department has special competence in the data modelling of complex extinguishing system installations. Examples include the Puuvilla Shopping Centre in Pori, Finland, which won the award for best building information modelling site at the 2013 Tekla BIM Awards. Firecon provided the design and installation of a sprinkler system for the site.

In addition to the EN standards, we have also mastered the FM (Factory Mutual) standard.
